Important Notice Regarding Driving License
To legally drive in Japan, you must have ONE of the following:
- A valid International Driving Permit (IDP) issued under the 1949 Geneva
Convention, or - A valid Japanese driver’s license, or
- For certain countries, an original driver’s license + an official Japanese translation.
If you do not present the required documents at the time of pick-up,
we will not be able to rent the vehicle, and no exceptions can be made.
Please make sure to prepare the required before your arrival in Japan. documents
